Hi everyone!
Sorry it's been a few weeks since I've written a big email to everyone! So busy here at the mtc! A lot has happened the last few weeks!
Still loving it here at the mtc, but I'm so excited to get out to Sydney! I have 10 more days here, then I'm out into the big world! The mtc is really such a huge blessing. I've learned so much about the gospel and about Korean language, people, and culture. We get our flight plans tomorrow! I'm guessing I'm going to have to get up at 3:30am to go to the airport next monday, then fly from slc to somewhere in California, then I'll probably stop in New Zealand, then on to Sydney! I think that's how it usually goes for missionaries going to the land down under. I'm super excited!
So the other day we got a new Elder in our Branch and he's from Korea! His name is Elder Lee! And since I can understand his korean and speak with him pretty well, I was split up from my trio and became his companion! It was a little sad for me and my old companions, Elder Rees and Elder Sabey, but it's also such a great blessing! My korean has been improving more now that I have a native speaker with me 24/7! Elder Lee 24 years old and he is so cool. A lot of Korean young men who want to go on missions usually go to the mandatory 2 year korean military service first, so they're usually older! But Elder Lee looks about my age so it's awesome. He told me that he actually liked the military and that it was a good experience! But he never wants to go back, of course. One random Sister missionary at lunch one day asked if we were brothers though! We actually do look a lot alike, but I guess all asian people look a lot alike to most caucasian people! I'd say he looks like the full korean version of me though. We haven't had much time to take pictures yet, but I'll get to it soon! He is really so kind and loving and a great teacher of the gospel. I've been so blessed to have such great companions here at the mtc!
This week we also had the opportunity to hear from Elder Dallin H. Oaks at our Tuesday night devotional! He's such an amazing man and I know that he is truly an Apostle of the Lord. I know that this is Jesus Christ's true church. God still calls prophets and apostles like he has in the past, and I know that Joseph Smith really saw God and Jesus Christ and was called to be a prophet. And we have a living prophet today! So many people out in the world need to know that God loves them and that He send His son Jesus Christ for us, and that there is a prophet on the earth today. I know that this gospel is the only way to true and lasting happiness! I'm so happy to share this gospel with everyone! Whenever I think about going out there and serving people and teaching them about Jesus I get so excited and happy!
Wow I've been jumping around so much in this letter! I hope my english still makes sense! I guess I'll end this one here. Thanks for all the emails and prayers, everyone! Have a great week!
-Love, Elder Litster
